Armenian finance and economy ministry signs grant agreements worth $238.5 million

In 2007, Armenian Finance and Economy Ministry signed agreements on grants worth $238.5 million, Finance Minister Vardan Khachatryan said Thursday at a press conference.

YEREVAN, January 24. /ARKA/. In 2007, Armenian Finance and Economy Ministry signed agreements on grants worth $238.5 million, Finance Minister Vardan Khachatryan said Thursday at a press conference.

Нe said 12 credit and 16 grant international agreements were signed in 2007. Credit agreements totaled over $106.6 million, 56% of which was given by World Bank. Grant agreements totaled $131.9 million, 98.9% of which was received under joint programs with European Union”, he said.

Кhachatryan also said that one credit and preparation of two grant agreements worth EUR 8.5 million and 14 million are under way now.

“Another $9.4 million was provided to Armenia under Millennium Challenges American Corporation’s program”, he said.
Millennium Challenges program was launched in Armenia on September 29, 2006.
On March 27, 2006, an agreement envisaging $235 million in grants to be provided to Armenia within five years was signed.-0---
