YEREVAN, March 2. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has identified the drivers of economic activity growth in Armenia in January.

"Armenia's economic activity increased by 7.2% y/y in January 2026, following 9.1% y/y in January–December 2025. The growth drivers were the services sector (+7.4% y/y) and construction (+18.7% y/y). Industry provided an additional contribution (+10.6% y/y)," the EDB said in its weekly macroeconomic review.

Against this backdrop, the bank left unchanged its forecast for Armenian economic growth of 5.3% in 2026.

Armenian Economic Figures and Forecasts

According to Armstat, Armenia's economic growth in 2025 was 7.2%, while inflation was 3.3%. The 2026 state budget projects economic growth at 5.4%. According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the fourth quarter of last year, Armenia's GDP growth is expected to be 6.3-4.1% by the end of 2026, depending on scenarios (A-B), and 4.9-5.3% in 2027.

International financial institutions' economic growth forecasts for Armenia for 2026: EDB - 5.3%; WB - 4.9%; IMF - 5.5%; EBRD - 5.5%; S&P Global Ratings - 5.3%; Fitch Ratings - above 5% (for 2026-2027).
