Food prices in Armenia rise 2.8% in November 2016

Prices for foods in Armenia rose 2.8% in November 2016, compared with the previous month, the National Statistical Service reports.
YEREVAN, December 8. /ARKA/. Prices for foods in Armenia rose 2.8% in November 2016, compared with the previous month, the National Statistical Service reports.
The increase was mainly due to a 28.5 percent month-on-month price hike in vegetable and potato market. However, compared with November 2015, vegetable and potato prices slid 2.9%.
Price for fruits showed a 17.7% year-on-year and a 2.1% month-on-month growth in November 2016.
Sugar price has climbed 14.8% over one year and 1.9% over one month.
Dairy products became 3.2% cheaper in November 2016 than in the same month a year before, but 1.6% more expensive than they were in October 2016.
Prices for fish products have slipped 2.1% over one year, but have increased 1.4% over one month.
Average prices for eggs have gone 10.2% up in November 2016 compared with the same month a year before, but 0.7% down compared with October 2016.
Spirits, light drinks and cigarettes rose 0.2% in November 2016, compared with the previous month, while confectionery, bread and meat shed 1.5%, 0.2% and 0.1% respectively.
According to the National Statistical Service, consumer prices in Armenia slipped 0.6% in November 2016, compared with November 2015, but added 1%, compared with the previous month.
In the 2016 government budget, inflation is projected at 4% (±1.5%) and GDP growth at 2.2%. --0-----
