More than 2.2 million tourists visited Armenia in 2024 - Papoyan

YEREVAN, January 13. /ARKA/. Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan presented data on tourist visits for the past year.

He stated that the data for December 2024 had been summarized today approximately 131,000 tourists visited the country, which is 2-3 thousand fewer than in December 2023.

"As a result, about 2.215 million tourist visits were recorded last year. More precise data will be published later today," he said at a press conference.

The minister noted that the annual figure had fallen by about 7%, primarily due to a decrease in tourist visits from Russia, while the number of visitors from other countries had increased.

At the same time, Papoyan stated that the target for 2026 is to reach a tourist visit figure of about 2.5-2.7 million people.
