Papoyan: Armenia interested in preserving the Eurasian Economic Union

Armenia is interested in the continued existence of the Eurasian Economic Union, stated Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.
YEREVAN, July 31. /ARKA/. Armenia is interested in the continued existence of the Eurasian Economic Union, stated Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.
"We don't want the EAEU to disintegrate. We want it to remain as a structure. We're thinking about the EAEU because it's our organization," Papoyan told reporters at a briefing on Friday.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to take measures to resolve the issue of restrictions on the export of goods of Armenian origin to the Russian market. On July 30, he stated at a briefing that the Eurasian Economic Union is de facto in a state of collapse because the provisions of the EAEU treaty are not being implemented.
On restrictions on the supply of Armenian products to Russia
Since the end of May, Russia has been gradually introducing restrictions on the supply of certain products from Armenia, citing violations of phytosanitary requirements.
The restrictions apply to flowers, mineral water, certain types of alcoholic beverages, vegetables, fruits, berries, grapes, potatoes, dried fruits, and later to live fish and fish products. Dairy products were also added on July 27.
The restrictions also include a ban on the transit of products of Armenian origin through Russia to other EAEU countries.
