Shares of the Yerevan Brandy-Wine-Vodka Factory transferred to state management - Prosecutor General's Office

The Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia has granted the Prosecutor General's Office's petition to transfer to the state the management and custody of the shares of the Yerevan Brandy-Wine-Vodka Factory OJSC, owned by businessman and politician Gagik Tsarukyan.

YEREVAN, July 31. /ARKA/. The Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia has granted the Prosecutor General's Office's petition to transfer to the state the management and custody of the shares of the Yerevan Brandy-Wine-Vodka Factory OJSC, owned by businessman and politician Gagik Tsarukyan.

According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, the decision was made on July 30, 2026, as part of proceedings concerning the confiscation of property allegedly of illegal origin.

The management and custody of the shares have been transferred to the Republic of Armenia, represented by the Ministry of Economy; a petition for an interim measure was filed with the Anti-Corruption Court on July 29.

The Prosecutor General's Office recalls that on October 9, 2023, it filed a lawsuit against Gagik Tsarukyan and individuals associated with him, demanding the confiscation of property it believes to be of illegal origin. Among other things, the Prosecutor General's Office requests the transfer of Tsarukyan's shares in the Yerevan Brandy-Wine-Vodka Factory to the state.

As part of the same lawsuit, the Prosecutor General's Office is demanding the confiscation of 75 real estate properties, the market value of 10 more properties, 42 vehicles, and shares in 38 legal entities. The total amount of the claimed monetary claims is 105,865,865,000 drams.

Earlier, on July 15, the Anti-Corruption Court granted another motion by the Prosecutor General's Office, transferring the management and custody of the shares of Araratcement CJSC to the state.

About Tsarukyan's criminal case

Gagik Tsarukyan, owner of the Multi Group holding company and leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, has been in custody since July 7. He is charged with large-scale fraud and money laundering, large-scale tax evasion, and illegal hunting. The defense denies the charges, and the court has not established Tsarukyan's guilt in these cases.
