Failure to comply with EAEU principles is a problem not only for Armenia, but for the entire Eurasian Economic Union, stated Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan.
YEREVAN, July 29. /ARKA/. Failure to comply with EAEU principles is a problem not only for Armenia, but for the entire Eurasian Economic Union, stated Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan.
"When we raise this issue and want to discuss it, we are primarily talking about ensuring that EAEU principles ultimately come into effect. Because failure to comply with them is a problem not only for Armenia, but for the entire EAEU," Papoyan said at a briefing.
The minister emphasized that, in accordance with EAEU legislation, all states are obligated to ensure the free movement of services, goods, and labor. If this is not ensured, then EAEU legislation and the principles underlying the union's creation are not working.
"We believe that we must work within this system. "Goods sold in the United Arab Emirates, the European Union market, and China cannot but be sold in the Russian Federation," Papoyan noted.
He added that Armenia views the EAEU as its own union and therefore cannot take a neutral or passive position regarding any of its dysfunctional mechanisms.
Restrictions on the supply of Armenian products to Russia
Since the end of May, Russia has been gradually introducing restrictions on the supply of certain products from Armenia, citing violations of phytosanitary requirements.
The restrictions include flowers, mineral water, and certain types of alcoholic beverages, vegetables, fruits, berries, grapes, potatoes, dried fruits, and later live fish and fish products, and, starting on July 27, dairy products.
The restrictions also include a ban on the transit of products of Armenian origin through Russia to other EAEU countries.
