Taxes paid by 1000 largest Armenian taxpayers grow by 9 percent

Armenia's 1000 largest corporate taxpayers paid more than 378.4 billion drams in various taxes in the first half of the year, by 9.1% or 31.7 billion drams more when compared to the first half of 2016, according to the numbers, unveiled by the State Revenues Committee said.

YEREVAN, JULY 27. /ARKA/. Armenia's 1000 largest corporate taxpayers paid more than 378.4 billion drams in various taxes in the frist half of the year, by 9.1% or 31.7 billion drams more when compared to the first half of 2016, according to the numbers, unveiled by the State Revenues Committee said.

Of that amount about 286.6 billion drams were collected directly by the tax authorities, and about 91.8 billion drams by the customs authorities.
About 137.4 billion drams were colected as direct taxes (income and profit taxes), and abouut 191,4 billion drams as indirect taxes (including VAT and  excise tax). Also 49.6 billion drams were collected as  other taxes and duties.

Taxes paid by the 1000 largest taxpayers accounted for 68.8% of all taxes and duties colected in January-June 2017. Overall 549.6 billion drams were collected as taxes and duties, an increase of 7.3% from the year before.

According to official data, the list was topped by the national gas distrbution company Gazprom Armenia, which paid over 24.46 billion drams in taxes, down from 24.56 billion drams paid for the same period in 2016. It was followed by Grand Tobacco, which paid 14.6 billion drams, an increase of 23.7%. The national power distribution company Electric Networks of Armenia was third with 11.8 billion drams of paid tazes, up from 9.2 billion drams paid for the first half of 2016.

Alex Holding, which paid about 11.2 billion drams against 7.3 billion drams in the first half of 2016 was fourth. The Zangezour Copper and Molybdenum Combine was the fifth largest taxpayer with 9.7 billion drams against 3 billion drams paid for the same period in 2016.

The List of the top10 largest taxpayers included also GeoProMining Gold (8.1 billion drams), CPS OIL CORPORATION (6.1 billion drams), Teghout (6 billion drams), International Masis Tabak (5.3 Billion drams) and Philip Morris Armenia (5.1 billion drams). ($ 1 - 478.73 drams). --0-
