YEREVAN, April 16. /ARKA/. Direct air service between Tashkent and Yerevan is planned to open in May 2026, according to Uzbekistan Airports.
"For the first time in decades, regular passenger flights may be launched between the capitals of Uzbekistan and Armenia. The Armenian airline Shirak Avia will operate this route. Flights are expected to be operated once a week on Boeing 737 aircraft," the statement read.
The company noted that the opening of the new route will strengthen tourism and business ties between Armenia and Uzbekistan and expand travel options for passengers from both countries.
Until now, passengers had to travel this route with transfers in Moscow, Istanbul, and Tbilisi.
