Armenian court extends Samvel Karapetyan's house arrest
YEREVAN, April 17. /ARКА/. Armenia's Anti-Corruption Court has extended today the house arrest of Tashir Group president and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan for another three months.
The court also lifted the ban on Karapetyan's public appearances (interviews).
About the criminal case
On March 27, 2026, the Investigative Committee of Armenia announced the completion of the criminal investigation against Samvel Karapetyan and two other individuals.
Karapetyan was arrested on June 18, 2025, and has been under house arrest and bail since December 30. He is charged under five articles of the Criminal Code: "tax evasion," "embezzlement," "money laundering," "illegal activity through a legal entity," and "public calls for the seizure of power and the violent overthrow of the constitutional order" (following his statement in support of the Armenian Apostolic Church and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II - ed.). He denies the charges.-0-
