The water level of Lake Sevan rose by 7 cm from June 8 to 14, 2026, reaching 1900.68 meters as of June 14, the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center reports.
YEREVAN, June 15. /ARKA/. The water level of Lake Sevan rose by 7 cm from June 8 to 14, 2026, reaching 1900.68 meters as of June 14, the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center reports.
According to the center, the current level is 6 cm lower than the level recorded on the same day last year and 46 cm higher than the level recorded on January 1, 2026.
It is also noted that from June 8 to 14, 10.835 million cubic meters of water were transferred to the lake through the Arpa-Sevan water transport system.
From the beginning of the year through June 14, the volume of water entering Lake Sevan through the Arpa-Sevan tunnel amounted to 113.991 million cubic meters.
Lake Sevan is the main source of fresh water in Armenia and one of the largest high-altitude lakes in Europe and Asia. It is located at an altitude of approximately 1,900 meters above sea level. The Hrazdan River originates from Sevan, and 28 rivers flow into the lake.
According to the state program for the restoration of Lake Sevan's ecosystem, the lake's water level is planned to be raised to an optimal level of 1,903.5 meters.
