Yerevan Municipality will receive $650 million for the implementation of three major infrastructure projects in the capital, Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced.
YEREVAN, July 1. /ARKA/. Yerevan Municipality will receive $650 million for the implementation of three major infrastructure projects in the capital, Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced.
"At a meeting of the Investment Committee, programs for the construction of the Ajapnyak metro station, the modernization of the Yerevan Metro, and the acquisition of electric buses were approved," Avinyan stated in a video posted on his social media.
According to the mayor, the Ajapnyak metro station construction project is entering the practical stage.
"We will reach out to international partners, receive proposals, and select the partner with whom we can most quickly launch the tender process for the project," Avinyan noted.
As part of the comprehensive modernization of the Yerevan Metro, it is planned to increase the rolling stock, as well as replace and upgrade the tracks, cars, and key infrastructure of the system.
"With the electric bus program, we will complete the large-scale reforms of ground public transport that have begun," Avinyan said.
