MINSK, May 23. /ARKA/. The president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that the sitting of the premiers of CIS countries will facilitate improving quality of multilateral interaction, ARKA News Agency reports.

The main development vectors are set in the further cooperation concept approved by the presidents of CIS countries half a year ago, Lukashenko said at the meeting of the premiers of CIS countries in Minsk. He considered it important to make first unbiased evaluation of the work done through joint efforts.

According to Lukashenko, the aim of the CIS government heads is to fill the cooperation with specific content to deepen the interaction.

Will the CIS get a second wind or not depends on ability to listen to each other and find solutions to complicated problems and be ready to embody words in real deeds, Lukashenko said. He stressed the particular role the Russian Federation plays in this process. Solving of many problems to further strengthen the economies of CIS countries and improve the living standards depends on the position of Russia with its human, territorial and economic potential, Lukashenko said.

According to him, forming a full-scale free trade zone in the CIS is the key part of economic cooperation. “We should establish uniform approaches to such problems as transport, energy, common labor resources market, food security,” he said stressing the importance of showing consistency in carrying out the obligations undertaken.

“The CIS can and should make its contribution to ensure a multipolarity of the world system,” Lukashenko said. –0--
