Retail sales in Germany upped 1.8% in April year over year

Retail sales in Germany increased by 1.8% in April 2013, compared to a year earlier, according to the Federal Statistical Office, RBC reported today.

YEREVAN, May 31./ARKA/. Retail sales in Germany increased by 1.8% in April 2013, compared to a year earlier, according to the Federal Statistical Office, RBC reported today.

The analysts forecasted 0.8-percent rise though.

The retail sales, however, downed by 0.4% from  March against 0.2% anticipated by the analysts. 

In the nominal value the retail sales in Germany dropped by 0.4% month over month, and rose by 3.2% year over year. -0-
