Another earthquake recorded in northern Armenia

YEREVAN, February 16. /ARKA/. A 3.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded on Wednesday in Armenia, near the border with Georgia, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center said on its website.
According to it, the underground shock occurred at 11:37 local time (07.37 GMT), 28 km west of Tashir and 41 km north of Gyumri. The source was located at the depth of 2 km.
On February 13 at 22:25 local time (18:25 GMT) a 5.2 magnitude earthquake was registered 16 km north-west of the town of Bavra in Shirak province of Armenia near the border with Georgia.
The intensity of the underground shock was 6-7 points in the epicenter. It was felt in the capital Yerevan and three regions of Armenia, as well as in Georgia and in the south of Russia.
More than 170 aftershocks were registered on the territory of Armenia during the following 3 days, but with notably lower intensity.
According to Armenia’s National Seismic Service, the February 13 earthquake was the strongest since the Spitak earthquake in 1988 December that killed 25,000 people in Armenia and razed to ground one third of the country --0--
