Four people have been detained as part of a criminal investigation into the explosion at the Surmalu shopping center in Yerevan on August 14 that killed more than a dozen people, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported.

YEREVAN, August 26. /ARKA/. Four people have been detained as part of a criminal investigation into the explosion at the Surmalu shopping center in Yerevan on August 14 that killed more than a dozen people, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported.

It said two of them are charged with violation of fire safety rules and requirements and the other are charged with murder by negligence of two or more persons.

The explosion at a fireworks warehouse on August 14 killed 16 people, including a pregnant woman and a child and injured another 63. One person is still being unaccounted for as of today.-0-
