YEREVAN, August 26. /ARKA/. The fire reportedly ignited in Malatia Mall in Yerevan Saturday at 15:47 has destroyed commodities on the territory of 27,000 square meters. The fire was eventually put out on Sunday at 13:53. As many as 19 crews made up of 434 firefighters immediately rushed to the scene.

The emergency ministry said Monday that the blaze ignited in the territory where household and electronic devises, furniture and textile were kept and sold. Emergency Minister Felix Tsolakyan told journalists that the firefighting was hobbled by the presence of flammable substances there and some other factors.

"Violation of urban planning norms is dangerously commonplace in Yerevan," he said. "Just look - firefighters can't come close to the flame from any side." The minister said he was happy about the job the firefighters have done - they have managed to localize this highly complicated fire.

Armenian Police Chief Valery Osipyan was personally controlling the firefighting on the scene. He refrained from speaking about possible causes of the fire. "Possible causes of the fire ignition and all wrongdoers will become known after completion of the preliminary investigation," he said.

Ten people were injured in the fire and taken to hospitals. After receiving medical services  they were released from the hospitals. -0---
