Two Armenian Deputy Health Ministers Sacked

Armenian prime minister Tigran Sarkisian has sacked today two deputy health ministers, Tatul Hakobyan and Abraham Manukian, the government press office said. It said both deputy ministers were dismissed after requesting resignation.
YEREVAN, November 9, /ARKA/. Armenian prime minister Tigran Sarkisian has sacked today two deputy health ministers, Tatul Hakobyan and Abraham Manukian, the government press office said. It said both deputy ministers were dismissed after requesting resignation.

Last Thursday prime minister Tigran Sarkisian lashed out at several government ministries accusing them of corruption and mismanagement and ordered senior personnel changes in agriculture, finance, education and health ministries citing the findings of internal inquiries conducted by the government’s Oversight Service.

The prime minister said corruption in the ministries of education and healths has deepened, as shown by both analytical materials available to the public as well as analysis of the government’s oversight services. Education and health ministers were given ten days to present “a clear and understandable plan of actions” against “corrupt practices in both ministries. –0--
