Chairman of European parliament: Europe believes in the success of reforms in Armenia

Europe believes in the success of reforms in Armenia, said the Chairman of European Parliament Jerzy Buzek in the meeting with the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
YEREVAN, May 19. /ARKA/. Europe believes in the success of reforms in Armenia, said the Chairman of European Parliament Jerzy Buzek in the meeting with the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
Buzek said that it will be a good example for other countries selected the same route.
Sargsyan said that regular contacts and active dialogue with representatives of European Union give positive impulse to the policy of European integration of Armenia.
In recent years, Armenia-EU relations develop rapidly and the spheres of cooperation cover not only foreign policy and economic-trade relations, but also internal reforms in Armenia targeted at the provision of welfare of population.
Sargsyan said that Armenia is ready to continue the reforms on the basis of European experience with the support of EU.
The start of the policy of “East partnership” put the mutual relations on the new level. Good opportunities appeared for cooperation with partner-countries.
“I think that we should try to strengthen inter-parliamentary and inter-party relations. We consider our relations with European Parliament, as an authoritative organization influencing on general European processes very important”, said Sargsyan.
President of Armenia also welcomed the establishment of Euronest – Parliament platform of cooperation between EU countries and the program “East partnership”. He considers the cooperation with EU one of the priority directions of foreign policy of Armenia.
Buzek said that Armenia has always been historically connected with Europe. “You have always been a part of Europe during the whole period of your history”, said Buzek. -0-
