RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan held a meeting with foreign diplomats accredited to Armenia and heads of offices of international organizations.
YEREVAN, March 24. /ARKA/. RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan held a meeting with foreign diplomats accredited to Armenia and heads of offices of international organizations.

The press and information department, RA Foreign Office, reports that the RA Foreign Minister informed the foreign diplomats of the steps taken by Armenia’s authorities to restore public unity. The Minister confirmed that the authorities’ actions were in full conformity with Armenia’s Constitution and laws.

During the meeting, Minister Oskanian pointed out the importance of a quadripartite coalition memorandum signed in Armenia. He pointed out that this lays serious foundations for the consolidation of the coalition forces’ programs and progress.

On March 21, the Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia Party, Country of Law Party and Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) formed a new ruling coalition in Armenia. The coalition aims at implementing large-scale reforms in the country.

The RA Foreign Minister also informed the diplomats on Armenia’s position on the results of the voting on a resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh adopted by the UN General Assembly on Azerbaijan’s initiative, as well as on the events that followed the voting. Oskanyan stressed that Armenia remains committed to the documents elaborated by the OSCE Minsk Group and believes that the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process must be within the OSCE Minsk Group.

On March 14, by 39 to seven, with 100 abstentions, the UN General Assembly adopted an Azerbaijan-submitted resolution on Nagorno-Karabakh, demanding immediate withdrawal of Armenian troops from the “occupied” territories. In the resolution Azerbaijan asks the confirmation of its right to Nagorno-Karabakh and the neighboring regions. The USA, France and Russia, the OSCE MG co-chairing countries, voted against the resolution. –0--
