Armenia to host next UN Biodiversity Conference (COP17)

YEREVAN, November 1. /ARKA/. Armenia will host the next UN Biodiversity Conference (COP17). The Secretariat of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity announced the news on X.

"Armenia stands ready to welcome the upcoming UN Biodiversity Conference, reaffirming its commitment to preserving global biodiversity," it said.

According to Armenian Environment Minister Hakob Simidyan, Armenia was elected as the host country with 65 votes in favor.

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan attended the COP16 conference in Columbia earlier this week. -0-
