Armenia is committed to resolving issues with Russia in a constructive atmosphere – Mirzoyan
YEREVAN, May 26. /ARКА/. Armenia expects to resolve emerging issues with Russia in a constructive manner, stated Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

"We do not want to create tensions in political dialogue or economic relations – neither directly, nor in multilateral forums, nor within the framework of our cooperation in the EAEU, the CIS, and so on," Mirzoyan said at a press conference in connection with the visit of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Yerevan.

According to Mirzoyan, Yerevan expects all emerging issues to be discussed in a constructive and partner-like atmosphere.

"Problems arise from time to time in all possible relationships. We hope and are committed that all these issues will be discussed and resolved," he noted.

The Armenian minister also touched upon restrictions on the supply of Armenian products to Russia. According to him, similar situations have arisen before: problems with certain products could arise with the start of the season.

The minister noted that such issues may be objective in nature and related to the actions of individual economic entities, rather than political narratives.

Regarding restrictions on product supplies from Armenia to Russia

Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) previously suspended the import and circulation in Russia of all batches of Jermuk mineral water from Armenia, as well as wine and cognac from three Armenian producers.

Furthermore, Rosselkhoznadzor (the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) imposed temporary restrictions on the import of flowers and food products from Armenia until the completion of an inspection by Russian specialists, at the invitation of the Food Safety Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia. The regulator had also previously issued complaints regarding fruits and vegetables supplied from Armenia to Russia.
