Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he will not attend the meeting of the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union member states on May 28 in Astana.
YEREVAN, May 11. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he will not attend the meeting of the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union member states on May 28 in Astana.
"During my visit to Russia on April 1, I informed (Russian – ed.) President Vladimir Putin that I would not be able to participate in the meeting due to the election campaign," he said at a briefing on Monday.
The prime minister said he did not know at the time whether he would be invited, but out of politeness and respect, he informed him in advance that he would not be able to participate in the May 9 parade in Moscow.
"I also informed him that I would not be able to participate on May 28," Pashinyan said.
The head of government also noted that he had called the President of Kazakhstan the previous day and announced his non-attendance. "Armenia will be represented at the event by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan," Pashinyan said.
