Armenian and Lebanese defense officials discuss cooperation issues

Armenia’s defense minister Seyran Ohanyan received today a Lebanese military delegation, led by brigadier general Manuel Kirejian, Lebanese army's deputy chief of staff for logistics, to discuss ways to boost cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
YEREVAN, March 9. / ARKA /. Armenia’s defense minister Seyran Ohanyan received today a Lebanese military delegation, led by brigadier general Manuel Kirejian, Lebanese army's deputy chief of staff for logistics, to discuss ways to boost cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
The Armenian defense ministry said minister Ohanyan stressed the need for establishing high-level military-political relations indicating possible priorities of this cooperation.
This opinion was shared by the Lebanese delegation., the ministry said. It said Lebanese army officials had a meeting also with Armenian deputy defense minister David Tonoyan.
The two sides were said to have agreed on exchange of experience, discussed updating of a 2001 bilateral agreement on military cooperation and also a bilateral plan of cooperation for this year. The meeting was attended by Lebanese ambassador to Armenia Jean Makar.-0-
