YEREVAN, October 30. /ARKA/. The first and second ex-presidents of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Robert Kocharyan intend to discuss in Moscow the possibilities of resolving the Karabakh conflict, Mane Gevorgyan, the press secretary of the Prime Minister, wrote on her Facebook page. She said Nikol Pashinyan does not object.

On October 20, Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting in Yerevan with former Presidents of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Arkady Ghukasyan and Bako Sahakyan to discuss the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression. The next day, the ex-presidents of Artsakh met with the former presidents of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan.

According to Gevorgyan, Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Robert Kocharian want to leave for Moscow to discuss the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh with representatives of the Russian elite.

She said Pashinyan cannot hinder any possible step in the interests of Armenia and Artsakh. The ex- presidents have not yet left Armenia. 'In any case, the Prime Minister and the government are open to proposals for resolving the current situation and have never refused to discuss such proposals,” Gevorgyan said.

The second president of Armenia and the first president of Artsakh, Robert Kocharyan, is currently a defendant in a criminal case brought against him by the current Armenian authorities. Kocharyan is charged with overthrowing the constitutional order. The charges stem from the crackdown on opposition on March 1-2, 2008 after the presidential election, the results of which were contested by Ter-Petrosyan and his supporters.

The protests erupted on March 1-2, 2008 in riots and clashes between protesters and law enforcement forces, as a result of which ten people were killed and over 200 were injured.

The other defendants are Seyran Ohanyan (then the Minister of Defense of Armenia), Yuri Khachaturov (ex-head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia) and Armen Gevorkyan (former head of the presidential administration). -0-
