Armenian justice minister Arpine Hovhannisyan has been relieved today of her post by president Serzh Sargsyan, the presidential press service said.

YEREVAN, May 17. /ARKA/. Armenian justice minister Arpine Hovhannisyan has been relieved today of her post by president Serzh Sargsyan, the presidential press service said. The position is now vacant, since Arpine Hovhannisyan was elected to the new Armenian parliament.

Hovhannisyan was a parliament member until 2015, when she was appointed justice minister. In September 2016 she was reassigned to this post as part of the new government.

Arpine Hovhannisyan was born in 1983 in Yerevan. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University. She earned a master's and postgraduate degrees at the same faculty. She has a PhD and is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the Yerevan State University.

In 2008 she worked as an assistant to the head of the presidential staff. She was elected to parliament in 2012 on the list of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia. -0-
