Armenian parliament delegation attends inter-parliamentary gathering in Geneva

An Armenian delegation headed by parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan has left for Geneva, Switzerland, to attend a summit of the Inter-Parliamentary Union March 17-19.
YEREVAN, March 17. / ARKA /. An Armenian delegation headed by parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan has left for Geneva, Switzerland, to attend a summit of the Inter-Parliamentary Union March 17-19.
The Armenian delegation includes MPs Karen Chshmarityan Heghine Bisharyan and Karine Ajemyan.
Hovik Abrahamyan will speak at the event on the 125th anniversary of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and Armenia’s commitment to peace and democracy. Bilateral meetings are also planned, the press service of the Armenian parliament said.
The Inter-Parliamentary Union is an international organization that coordinates the world's parliaments’ activities. It was founded in 1889 by William Randal Cremer and Frederic Passy and became the first international organization serving as a platform for political debate. -0-
