YEREVAN, May 4. /ARKA/. Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever stated that the embassy opened in Yerevan is more than just a symbol of the long-standing ties between Belgium and Armenia, the Armenian government press service reported.

"It is a solemn expression of our commitment to the future: a commitment to deepening our cooperation in business, innovation, technology, infrastructure, and scientific exchange," he said during the opening ceremony of the diplomatic mission.

According to De Wever, Armenia plays an important role as a partner for stability and is a beacon of democratic values ​​in the wider region.

"In a world full of uncertainty, such friendships and partnerships are important. Belgium stands firmly by Armenia, and will continue to do so in the future," he stated.

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that the opening of the Belgian embassy in Armenia will serve as an impetus for the development and deepening of bilateral relations.

"We have long-standing historical ties, and our relations are founded on these traditions. Now they are developing as modern cooperation – in strengthening and developing democracy, the rule of law, and democratic institutions in Armenia," he said.
