YEREVAN, September 5. /ARKA/. Construction work on the TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) project may begin as early as 2027, said Armenian Ambassador to the US Narek Mkrtchyan in an interview with the American publication Semafor.

According to him, the project is progressing, and the feasibility study is expected to be completed by the end of this year. "Without TRIPP, peace talks would be impossible," Mkrtchyan stated.

According to Semafor, the US government has so far committed to allocating approximately $201 million to facilitate the project's financing, with the associated economic development estimated at $1.5 billion.

Mkrtchyan also stated that Armenia is comfortable with the US government's 74% stake in the company developing the proposed route.

According to him, Armenian institutions will retain decision-making authority, and the US's controlling stake indicates that the US will remain a key supporter of the project.
