YEREVAN, May 5. /ARKA/. The first Armenia-EU summit is being held in Yerevan on May 5. The Republic of Armenia will be represented at the summit by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, while the European Union will be represented by European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

As previously stated by the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the summit is dedicated to strengthening bilateral relations, in particular economic, energy, transport, digital technologies, and people-to-people contacts.

Peace and security in the South Caucasus, the development of transport infrastructure, regional cooperation, and current global challenges will also be discussed.

Relations between Armenia and the EU are based on the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which entered into force in 2021. In December 2025, the EU-Armenia Partnership Council adopted the EU-Armenia Strategic Partnership Framework.
