YEREVAN, April 29. /ARKA/. The first US Ambassador to the republic of Armenia Garry Gilmore passed away last week in the age of 77, the US embassy in Armenia reported on its website.

Gilmore was the ambassador to Armenia from May 1993 to July 1995. Over his 35-year-long diplomatic carrier Gilmore had worked also in Berlin, Belgrade, Munich, Budapest, Moscow, Ankara and held a number of key positions in Washington.

The farewell ceremony will take place on May 9 in Arlington (Virginia). –0--
