Samvel Karapetyan Announces Opposition Consolidation
YEREVAN, June 18. /ARKA/. Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the Strong Armenia party and president of the Tashir Group holding, announced the consolidation of opposition forces and the formation of a post-election coalition.

"We made this mistake before the elections. Many opposition forces, who perhaps fought fairly, overestimated their strength," Karapetyan noted in an interview with Armenian media editors.

He admitted that they were unable to reach an agreement with many opposition forces, and this consolidation is now important for Armenia and its people.

"I believe that those opposition forces that care about our country will respond, and we will definitely form a post-election opposition coalition. I propose creating a Coordination Council, communicating live on air, and presenting all the issues to our people," Karapetyan said.

Elections
On June 14, the Central Election Commission of Armenia announced the final results of the parliamentary elections held on June 7.

According to these results, the ruling Civil Contract party received 49.745% of the vote (64 seats). The opposition in the new parliament will be represented by the Strong Armenia bloc, which received 23.271% of the vote (29 seats), and the Armenia bloc, which received 9.923% of the vote (12 seats).

Several opposition forces have announced their intention to challenge the election results in the Constitutional Court, alleging pressure on voters and the active use of administrative resources by the authorities.
