YEREVAN, August 15. /ARKA/. Armenuhi Ghazaryan has replaced Gurgen Arsenyan as a new member of Armenian Parliament from the ruling Civil Contract party of PM Nikol Pashinyan.

The replacement was approved today by the Central Election Commission.

Gurgen Arsenyan resigned earlier as MP due to his appointment as Armenian ambassador to the Russian Federation.

He has replaced Vagharshak Harutyunyan, who had served as Armenia’s ambassador in Moscow since January 2022.

Arsenyan is a 64-year-old veteran politician. He has been affiliated with several major political groups and also led his own political party, which won seats in parliament in 2003. In the 2021 snap parliamentary elections, Arsenyan was re-elected to parliament on the Pashinyan's Civil Contract party's list.
