Overchuk believes there has been no progress for 1.5 years within the framework of the Armenian-Russian-Azerbaijani group on opening roads

YEREVAN, October 9. /ARKA/. Armenia is not formally withdrawing its signature from the trilateral statement signed in 2020 by Moscow, Baku and Yerevan, TASS reports, citing Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk. 

"Armenia is not formally withdrawing from the 2020 Trilateral Statement and is not revoking its signature, but at the same time, there has been almost no movement on the track of the trilateral working group at the level of deputy prime ministers for two years now, or at least one and a half years - since last summer," Overchuk said in a commentary for Channel One.

According to him, unblocking economic and transport corridors in the region is only possible with Russia's participation. 

On January 11, 2021, the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed in Moscow to unblock regional communications. For these purposes, it was decided to create a working group at the level of deputy prime ministers of the three countries, which will focus on establishing transport and economic ties in the region.

The Armenian authorities have repeatedly stated their readiness to open all roads and railways within the framework of respect for the principles of equality, sovereignty and jurisdiction of the parties. -0-
