Pashinyan-Blinken-von der Leyen meeting format envisages formation of joint agenda
YEREVAN, April 3. /ARKA/. The format of the planned Pashinyan-Blinken-von der Leyen meeting suggests the formation of a joint Armenia-US-EU agenda, said Vladimir Vardanyan, head of the Parliamentary Committee on State and Legal Affairs from the ruling Civil Contract party.
"Those issues that relate to economic security and political reforms may directly or indirectly relate also to the security situation," he told Armenia’s Public Television.
According to the MP, a stable economy, economic security, the possibility of export and import, and the absence of restrictions for a landlocked country are very important and can be considered as serious security factors.
Vardanyan acknowledged the unprecedented nature of the upcoming meeting, but noted that one should not have super expectations from it
On April 5 in Brussels, talks between U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen are scheduled. U.S. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller assured that the meeting does not concern the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process, but will focus on reforms in Armenia, its democracy, economy and resilience. -0-
