Russian Consulate General to open in southern Armenian Syunik

YEREVAN, October 6. /ARKA/. Russia will open a Consulate General in Armenia’s southernmost Syunik province, the Russian Embassy in Armenia reported on Facebook.
It said a diplomat from the Russian Foreign Ministry's Advance Group met with the mayor of Meghri, a town on the border with Iran to discuss the opening of a new Russian consular office in Syunik.
According to the embassy, it will significantly simplify the access of Russian citizens living in the south of Armenia to consular services.
The new Consulate General is also supposed to contribute to the Russian-Armenian relations and stabilization of the situation in the region, as well as promote the development of cultural-humanitarian, trade-economic and interregional cooperation. -0--
