Ukraine ready to help find solution to Karabakh conflict: ambassador

Ukraine is ready to help Armenia and Azerbaijan find a mutually acceptable solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ukrainian ambassador to Armenia, Ivan Kukhta, said in an exclusive interview with ARKA.

YEREVAN, August 27. /ARKA/. Ukraine is ready to help Armenia and Azerbaijan find a mutually acceptable solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ukrainian ambassador to Armenia, Ivan Kukhta, said in an exclusive interview with ARKA.

"Ukraine enjoys good friendly and partnership relations both with Armenia and Azerbaijan, and it is in our interest that the conflict is resolved peacefully. Ukraine is ready to contribute to all efforts aimed at finding a mutually acceptable solution to the dispute within the frameworks of the OSCE Minsk Group," he said.

The ambassador said in 2013 Ukraine will take up the rotating chairmanship of the OSCE. He also said Ukraine will make every effort to give new impetus to resolution of protracted conflicts in the OSCE territory, as well as promote the organization's effectiveness in early warning and response to the new challenges and threats to security. 

‘In general, regarding military-political sphere, Ukraine will support efforts to resume the effective regime of conventional arms control in Europe, non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and confidence-building measures," the ambassador said.

He stressed that in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict Ukraine support the position of the OSCE Minsk Group. -0-
