In Armenia reduction of flu dissemination was registered during the last two days – expert
YEREVAN, December 10. /ARKA/. “According to annual monitoring, during the last two days in Armenia decrease of flu dissemination was observed”, said Artavazd Vanyan, Head of Hygiene and Anti-epidemiological Inspection of Ministry of Health of Armenia on Thursday.
It is related to timely measures undertaken by the Ministry of Health of Armenia, particularly 10-day quarantine in schools and kindergartens which are closed from December 8 to December 19 due to acute respiratory infections.
Vanyan said that during the last month about 31 500 cases of acute respiratory infections were registered compared with the same period of 2008. In case of following the norms of security and hygiene, the danger of infection can be significantly reduced. Vahan Poghosyan, Head of Organization of Healthcare department said that in Armenia measures are undertaken for helping the patients having A/H1N1 (swine flu), as well as for further prevention of virus dissemination. Poghosyan said that any patient can get the medicament “Tamiflu” by the prescription of the doctor. -0-
