Over 400 Lifts Got Negative Technical Conclusion In 2010 In Armenia

Ashot Petrosyan, head of Armenia’s National Technical Safety Center, said to a news conference today that a 2010 study found out that over 400 lifts in Armenia were unfit for use.
YEREVAN, June 16. /ARKA/. Ashot Petrosyan, head of Armenia’s National Technical Safety Center, said to a news conference today that a 2010 study found out that over 400 lifts in Armenia were unfit for use.
Today there are 5 645 lifts, of which 1,190 are in administrative buildings and 4,455 in high-rise residential compounds.
“Last year our experts made negative conclusions regarding 462 lifts”, said Petrosyan.
In Yerevan, 4,833 lifts are registered, of which 2898 passed technical examination and 361 – got negative conclusion.
Petrosyan said that significant part of Yerevan’s lifts which got negative conclusions n (312) are in administrative district Malatia-Sebastia.
National Center concluded agreements with economizing entities, according to which technical examination of lifts cost 2 500 drams instead of the defined 2, 930 drams.
In case of non-fulfillment of requirements of mandatory technical examination of lifts, penalties will be applied in the amount of 1 million drams.
During last month sanctions were applied towards 35 economizing entities. Petrosyan assigned all economizing entities to place am information on technical examination of lifts in the ground floor of the buildings. During the last .5 years 222 accidents in the operation of dangerous sites are registered, of which 4 – in the lifts. –0--
