YEREVAN, December 28. /ARKA/. A platform for citizens to submit their income declarations will be created soon, Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan said.

In an interview with Armenpress, he reminded that submission of income declaration is mandatory from January 1, 2024 for all citizens who have concluded employment contracts.

"Income declarations for 2023 must be submitted by May 1, 2024.s A website and an app will be created so that people can easily fill out the declaration," the minister explained.

Hovhannisyan also touched upon the benefits for citizens paying off loans. "Persons who submitted the declaration and made certain expenses for education and health care will be able to claim income tax refunds: 100 thousand drams per year for education and 50 thousand drams for health care expenses," the minister said.

The system of universal income declaration has been in effect in Armenia since 2023 only for civil servants and deputies.

The system will be introduced in stages and will be extended to different groups of citizens. The first stage involves citizens and their family members, who hold public or state positions, as well as those engaged in entrepreneurial activities. In the second stage, from 2024, declarations will have to be filed by private sector employees and employees receiving income under civil law contracts.

From 2025, declarations will have to be filed by all those resident citizens who are not included in the above two groups.

Citizens must submit declarations by May 1 of each year following the reporting year. In case of evasion and tardiness, fines are envisaged - 50 thousand drams for entrepreneurs and 5 thousand drams for other citizens. --0--
