Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today that all educational institutions in the countr- kindergartens, schools and universities- will be closed until March 23 due to the situation with coronavirus.

YEREVAN, March 13. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today that all educational institutions in the countr- kindergartens, schools and universities- will be closed until March 23 due to the situation with coronavirus. “This period may be extended,” Pashinyan said during a live Facebook broadcast.

Six cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Armenia. The first case was recorded on March 1. A -29-year-old Armenian citizen who was airlifted from Iran, tested positive for the virus. Then two Armenian citizens (45 and 27 years old) and a 51-year-old Italian citizen who returned from Italy were found to have coronavirus. 

On March 12, two new cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in residents of Etchmiadzin who had previously been in contact with one of those infected. In total, 88 people are currently isolated. -0-
