As of December 31 morning, some 159,409 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Armenia, according to the Ministry of Health.

YEREVAN, December 31. /ARKA/. As of December 31 morning, some 159,409 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Armenia, according to the Ministry of Health.

Over the past 24 hours their number was said to have grown by 531. Sixteen people died from COVID-19 the day before, 957 patients recovered. Overall, 2, 855 people were tested for coronavirus over the last 24 hours. Five other people with confirmed coronavirus died of other causes. The total number of such cases stands now at 684.

In total, 593,903 coronavirus tests have been performed in Armenia since March 1, when the first case was reported.

Some 2, 823 people died from Covid-19 thus far, 142, 801 patients have recovered and another 13,101 patients are receiving currently treatment.

On September 11 the Armenian government decided to replace the state of emergency, declared on March 16 to stop the spread of coronavirus, with nationwide quarantine regime that will be in force until January 11, 2021. -0-
