Armenia’s demographic strategy will be presented to government in February 2023

YEREVAN, December 16. /ARKA/. Armenia’s demographic strategy, which is being developed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs will be presented to the government in February, 2023, Minister Narek Mkrtchyan told Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who met with the ministry’s officials today to hear a report on its performance in the outgoing year.
According to the government's press service, Pashinyan said the demographic strategy should include measures that will allow bringing Armenia's population to 5 million by 2050.
The minister recalled that from 1 January 2023, benefits for child care up to age 2 will also be paid to non-working mothers living in urban areas, and they will receive 85% of the benefit when they return to work (at present the benefit is discontinued when the mother returns to work.
Also, a program of state assistance was launched this year to assist families that have the third and next child (until the child is 6 years old).
He also said that the minimum monthly salary will increase from 68,000 drams to 75,000 drams from January 1, 2023. ($1 - 394.45 drams). --0--
