Armenian communities will receive part of funds from sale of state lands

YEREVAN, May 23. /ARKA/. The Armenian National Assembly is considering a set of amendments to the Law on the Budget System concerning the distribution of funds raised from the sale of state-owned lands and property.
Under the amendments approved earlier by the government, communities will receive part of the money that will be raised from the sale of state-owned lands and property.
Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan specified that 30% of the amount will be transferred to community budgets.
Terteryan recalled that after a reform of the Land Code in 2009-2010, all the state lands have been included into administrative borders of communities and the latter are obliged to oversee their maintenance, exploitation, mapping and so on.
According to Terteryan, transfer of 30% of the amount raised from the sale of state-owned land will motivate the communities to improve the management of state lands. --0--
