YEREVAN, Sept. 29. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved today a decision to raise the minimum wage for rank-and-file employees and civil servants.

Presenting the draft state budget for 2023, Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan said that the budget plans to allocate additional 21bln drams to finance the rise of salaries of public sector employees, but less bonuses and additional payments are planned. The workers' base salary will be set at 83,200 drams.

"However, it should be clarified that funding for the higher salaries will come from reduced bonuses and fringe benefits," Khachatryan said.

He also said that the government has approved an increase in the minimum wage to 75,000 drams from the current 68,000 drams. ($1 - 408.04 drams). -0-
