Armenian law enforcers crack down on drug smugglers
YEREVAN, May 20. /ARKA/. Armenian law enforcement bodies have detained several people suspected of drug smuggling.
According to the State Revenue Committee (SRC), the matter concerns the smuggling of drugs delivered to Armenia from the United States by Trans Shipping company.
The drugs were hidden in parcels and were to be sold through Telegram social network. One of the parcels contained 507 grams of marijuana, as well as 24 grams of hashish oil, in addition to personal use goods.
In another case, law enforcers found about 1.5 kg of marijuana. The third parcel had more than 4 kilograms of marijuana, 24 grams of hashish oil and 66 grams of cocaine.
A criminal case was opened under a relevant the article of the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing, the State Revenue Committee said.. -0-
