YEREVAN, June 4. /ARKA/. The Armenian Police announced the disclosure of a high-profile murder committed in the center of Yerevan on June 2.

According to earlier reports, a man, identified as Hovhannes Vardanyan, 50, a resident of the town of Giver, was shot dead on the downtown Abovyan Street in Yerevan in broad daylight near the Moskva Cinema.

According to Police, the hitman waited for the victim on Abovyan Street, and after shooting and killing him he fled to Northern Avenue, from where he took a taxi to Halabyan Street. There he got rid of the crime weapon and sportswear, which was on him during the incident.

Later, a loaded Makarov pistol and sportswear were found in one of the garbage cans on Halabyan Street. The man took another taxi from Halabyan Street to the Talon village of Aragatsotn region, where he bought clothes in one of the shops.

“The taxi drivers who were taking him were found in a short time. According to them, the suspect had a Slavic appearance and was Russian-speaking. As a result of operational-search measures, his identity was established. It is Alexander Buzmarev, a 23-year-old foreigner,' the Police said.

A suspect or accused of an alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty according to a court ruling that has entered into legal force, in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia. -0-
