YEREVAN, April 12. /ARKA/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has already completed his working visit to Armavir province.
Speaking before residents of Armavir, the provinces capital, he said that the first province he visited was Armavir, which is the propeller of the countrys agriculture. This is the smallest but densest-populated province of Armenia, he said.
The president visited Home Green Paradise greenhouse as part of his Armavir tour. Ameriabank has invested $900,000 in the construction of this 1.1-hectare greenhouse.
The greenhouse is expected to produce 60 tons of cucumbers this year. This years harvest will be sold in Armenia. It is planned to plant tomatoes, pepper and flowers here in the future. Expansion of this business is estimated to cost $23 million. Negotiations with a Dutch company over the matter are under way now.
Products will be exported to other countries, including Russia.
Sargsyan surveyed the WB-financed rehabilitation of 28.6-kilometer section of irrigation infrastructure. The rehabilitation costs AMD 863.88 million.
The president also visited two newly repaired schools and the provinces library.-0---
