Deputy parliament chairman: construction of churches is the right investment in Armenia

The deputy speaker of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia commended today wealthy individuals for investing heavily in the construction of churches describing it as ‘the only right investment in Armenia.’

YEREVAN, September 13. /ARKA/. The deputy speaker of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia commended today wealthy individuals for investing heavily in the construction of churches describing it as ‘the only right investment in Armenia.’ According to him, the church is the only place where a person receives positive energy.
Asked by journalists, whether private individuals in Armenia are trying to atone for their sins by building churches, the vice speaker of the parliament stressed that it is possible to atone for sins only before God.
"I'm a simple person, I'm not a judge to decide how many sins who committed," Sharmazanov added.
Commenting on journalists' remarks that these people can invest in the economy, Sharmazanov stressed that the construction of churches can not be countered by the development of economy.
He noted that the church is sacred, adding also that it is necessary to increase the hours of teaching the history of the Armenian Church in schools and universities. -0-
