Nagorno-Karabakh president Bako Sahakyan had a meeting with the country’s ministry of health staff Monday to discuss the outstanding issues and possible solutions in healthcare, the presidential press service reported.

STEPANAKERT, February 12. /ARKA/. Nagorno-Karabakh president Bako Sahakyan had a meeting with the country’s ministry of health staff Monday to discuss the outstanding issues and possible solutions in healthcare, the presidential press service reported.
Nagorno-Karabakh minister of health and other officials of the ministry made reports at the meeting.
The president pointed out that Artsakh (Armenian name of Karabakh) has been always famous for its qualified medical staff.

ahakyan said that healthcare is a very important component of the country’s security system and stressed the necessity to develop a healthcare system development concept based on principles of wider access to medical services, improved quality and efficiency of the services.
The government made serious efforts over the last years to provide more funds and improve conditions in medical institutions, as well as to pay raise to medical staff. Special focus was placed to ensure even development in the country’s regions.
Yet, a lot remains to be done – health care system reformation, development of promising projects, selection and correct distribution of personnel in particular, Sahakyan said.
The president stressed the importance of popularizing health life-style among population. In this respect, cooperation should be established, with kindergartens and schools in particular, Sahakyan said. –0--
